The MPERIA® marking and coding automation platform manages multiple marking, coding and print technologies on display at the Las Vegas Convention Center, September 25-27, 2017.
PITTSBURGH, PA (August 15, 2017) — In Booth C-3632 at , Matthews Marking Systems, a Matthews International company, will display the MPERIA® marking and coding automation platform and a variety of marking, coding and print technologies.
The exhibit is entitled “Packaging Line Efficiency and Productivity Through Centralized Control of Marking and Coding Operations.” There, attendees will discover multiple ways to take control of their cost-per-mark, multiple print heads and production lines—including different print technologies, systems and devices from multiple brands and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)—and variable sources of marking, coding and tracking information.
Highlighted solutions include:
MPERIA® Marking and Coding Automation Platform
The MPERIA marking and coding automation platform centralizes control of all primary, secondary and tertiary print technologies, including high-resolution piezo inkjet, high-resolution thermal inkjet, drop-on-demand valve jet, continuous inkjet and laser marking systems. It easily integrates with current enterprise systems and existing third-party marking and coding equipment—regardless of technology type, manufacturer, brand or location—to reduce downtime and cost while increasing productivity. Equipped with a choice of intuitive, touchscreen graphical user interfaces (GUI), MPERIA makes message creation and selection simple by automatically synchronizing graphic and source data inputs from enterprise resource planning (ERP), warehouse management systems (WMS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and Big Data systems with minimal information technology (IT) effort.
VIAjet™ L-Series Thermal Inkjet Printer
Ideal for marking and coding variable data in both primary packaging and industrial applications, the VIAjet L-Series thermal inkjet printer is a clean, fast, and cost-effective alternative to thermal transfer and adhesive labels. Controlled by the MPERIA marking and coding automation platform, the printer is ideal for marking and coding variable data in both primary packaging and industrial applications. It imprints onto paper, chipboard, corrugated and plastics while leveraging the same cartridge technology found in desktop printers. The L-Series provides high native print resolution (600 x 600 dots per inch) at speeds up to 1,200 feet per minute (366 meters per minute)—nearly twice as fast as competitive thermal inkjet systems. Print heads come in 0.5-, 1- or 2-inch (12.7-, 25.4-, or 50.8-millimeter) print heights, and inks include fast dry and bulk options.
VIAjet T-Series High-Resolution Piezo Inkjet Printer
Delivering on-demand branding to secondary packaging lines, the VIAjet T-Series high-resolution Piezo inkjet printer is a cost-effective alternative to adhesive labels and pre-printed corrugated cartons. Controlled by the MPERIA marking and coding automation platform, the T-Series print heads create high-resolution barcodes and images as tall as 4 inches (25.4 millimeters). Grouping multiple print heads together enables the marking of larger images, logos and multiple lines of text. Ideal for consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, and web-based industrial customers, the T-Series comes in two print head models: The T100 for side/vertical printing and the T100S for down/right-angle printing.
VIAjet V-Series High-Resolution Drop-on-Demand (DOD) Inkjet Printer
Featuring reliable valve technology, the rugged and durable VIAjet V-Series drop-on-demand (DOD) large character marking system is engineered for corrugated and direct carton marking in challenging secondary and tertiary industrial packing applications. Controlled by the MPERIA marking and coding automation platform, the V-Series is ideal for marking secondary and tertiary packaging. It marks on both porous and non-porous substrates, including metal, paper and pulp, wood, concrete and plastic. For high-speed production, its print heads mark at rates up to 800 feet per minute (244 meters per minute), and are rated for a lifespan of 6 billion firings apiece.
eMARK Eco Laser Coding System
Compact for easy installation on primary packaging lines, including those with minimal open floorspace and surrounding facility footprint, the eMark Eco laser coding system is engineered for simple coding on cardboard boxes, paper and thermal labels. It is also affordably priced for entry-level marking applications and operations seeking to replace continuous inkjet systems in food, beverage, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and industrial applications. It measures 20 inches (533 millimeters) long and weighs 15 pounds (7 kilograms) for easy integration into new and existing production lines. Low-maintenance, clean and environmentally friendly, the unit produces vector-quality, permanent coding of alphanumeric text, date and time codes, serial numbers, barcodes and 2D codes with a 10-watt power class, air-cooled CO2 laser.
eSolarMark+ CO2 Laser Coding System
Ideal for high-speed coding of variable data onto cardboard, glass, paper and plastics used in primary packaging of food, beverage and pharmaceutical products, the eSolarMark+ CO2 laser coding system features multiple enhancements. The unit has been upgraded with new control software and diagnostic functions, a user-friendly 15-inch touchscreen, and optional IP65-rated housing for washdown and extreme environments. Requiring no ink or consumables for a lower total cost ownership, the eSolarMark+ CO2 produces vector-quality, permanent coding of text, date and time codes, serial numbers, barcodes and 2D codes, and graphics.
